Research interests
“Design and synthesis of materials and molecular catalysts for electroreduction of CO2 to valuable materials.”

Maryam’s expertise lies in chemistry, with a focus on designing and synthesizing novel compounds and materials for impactful real-world applications, ranging from drug development to renewable energy. Her academic journey began with an MSc in Pharmaceutical Science from the UK. Driven by her fascination with materials science and organic chemistry, she pursued a second MSc in Chemistry and Molecular Science, followed by a PhD in the design of molecular catalysis for CO2 electroreduction and conversion at the University of Toronto, Canada. She further honed her skills in electrocatalysis during her first postdoctoral position at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)
